After following these three steps, it’s time to shift your focus to how you will juggle two transactions at once. You have a few options moving forward:

1) Find a new home without having your current home under contract. If it is feasible for you, this option is certainly something to consider. It does, however, carry the risk of you potentially taking on two mortgages at once.

2) Sell your home and find temporary housing while you’re between properties.

3) Begin your home search and make all offers you put forward contingent on the sale of your current home. Ideally, your home should already be under contract when you pursue this option.
